For the second time, Gori visited the museum of Orsay in Paris. It is famous for its collection of impressionist paintings.
Gori always had a fascination for this museum, and when he had the opportunity to visit it again, can you imagine how immense his pleasure was ?
Strangely, it is not paintings that fascinated him the most this time.
The selection of sculptures by Rodin, was probably what caught his attention the most.
If, by today’s standards, Rodin doesn’t seem to be the most modern sculptor, the intensity that emanates from his works definitely puts him ahead of his time, and even of today’s artists.
There is power and strength coming out of Auguste Rodin’s sculptures, aliveness and some sort of brutality that cast him as a timeless source of inspiration. Gori did not think sculpture could be so inspiring.
Now Gori wants to go back for a third time to study Gauguin…. He saw his woodworking and paintings and wants to study them closely…
